Supreme Court ruling in YouTube case could have implications for ChatGPT
Fox News Flash top headlines are here. Check out what's clicking on Foxnews.com. When the U.S. Supreme Court decides in the coming months whether to weaken a powerful shield protecting internet companies, the ruling also could have implications for rapidly developing technologies like artificial intelligence chatbot ChatGPT. The justices are due to rule by the end of June whether Alphabet Inc's YouTube can be sued over its video recommendations to users. That case tests whether a U.S. law that protects technology platforms from legal responsibility for content posted online by their users also applies when companies use algorithms to target users with recommendations.

The Future Of Fintech, According To AI
There has been an explosion in the computational power of artificial intelligence. To much fanfare, Open AI, a startup that raised $1 billion from Microsoft MSFT, released Chat GPT, an interface to interact with their AI model. So this naturally felt like an opportunity to learn about the future of fintech - according to AI (particularly since we're at the end of the year, the customary moment for future looking predictions). Lazarow: Starting with the basics: what is fintech? Chat GPT: Fintech, short for financial technology, refers to the use of technology to improve and automate financial services.

Clario publishes roadmap for using artificial intelligence (AI) to improve patients' experience in decentralized clinical trials (DCTs)
Clario, a technology company that delivers the leading endpoint solutions for decentralized, hybrid and site-based clinical trials, today published a manuscript in Nature Medicine that outlines how AI can improve patients' experience in DCTs. This comes as remote trials continue to rise in popularity, placing increased responsibility on participants. The study explores how AI automation can support improvements in digital health user interfaces. "AI is being used to enhance user experience in customer-facing applications across many industries," said Kevin Thomas, Ph.D., Director of Artificial Intelligence at Clario, one of the researchers. "Adopting this approach in clinical trials means we can help more patients to enroll, empower them to complete trials without undue burden, and ensure they are able to submit high-quality health assessments throughout their participation."

Best practices for building machine learning platforms on the cloud
This article is part of a VB Lab Insights series paid for by Capital One. Most people are familiar with major technology platforms like iOS, Windows and AWS. Platforms, in their essence, are a group of technologies that serve as a base from which to build, contribute, experiment and scale other applications. They enable much of today's most advanced technology capabilities and cutting-edge customer experiences. In order to keep pace with the scale and complexity of the technology capabilities brought by big data, AI and machine learning (ML), many companies are developing sophisticated internal platforms of their own.
Waterdrop Unveiled Its First Digital Employee Waterdrop Assistant
Waterdrop Inc. ("Waterdrop", the "Company" or "we") (NYSE: WDH), a leading technology platform dedicated to insurance and healthcare service with a positive social impact, recently announced that it officially launched its first digital employee "Waterdrop Assistant". "Waterdrop Assistant" is a human-like virtual employee that was developed based on Waterdrop's business processes and is powered by multiple technologies, including robotic process automation (RPA) and artificial intelligence (AI). "Waterdrop Assistant" can help the online insurance service team with numerous tasks, including data processing and analysis, online user management, and customer services, thus improving the response time, quality, and scope of the Company's customer service team. Mr. Mingxing Huang, Head of AI at Waterdrop, commented, "The introduction of digital employees is our latest exploration to continue promoting the digital transformation of the insurance industry, to reduce operating costs, and improve the efficiency of insurance services. Specifically in our case, 'Waterdrop Assistant' has helped shorten the response time, lower operating costs, and unleash the potential of our staff. Our analysis shows that since its launch, 'Waterdrop Assistant' has processed 86% of the user sessions with a 97% accuracy rate for intention recognition, helping free up 37% of the customer service manpower and effectively increase the policy renewal rate. Currently, 'Waterdrop Assistant' is responsible for highly repetitive and labor-intensive tasks, however, it has also undergone constant system iterations and architecture upgrades through ongoing machine learning. For example, in the fourth quarter of 2021, Waterdrop Assistant completed 20-plus system iterations and 3 architecture upgrades accumulatively. Our next goal is to enable'Waterdrop Assistant' to independently complete tasks for more complex and interactive scenarios and play a bigger role in the process of sales inquiry, underwriting review, risk control, and claim settlement."
